How do I wipe the TV screen?: Do not use any liquid, detergent, cleaning solutions to wipe the TV screen as it would damage the coating of screen. Do not use any rough material as that could leave scratch marks. Kindly use only dry and soft cloth and wipe the screen gently.
Why is there a time lag between a free-to-air channel and the Starhub cable channel?: MediaCorp is the only TV media broadcast in Singapore. The lag is due to Starhub picking up MediaCorp channel and then re-transmitting it to end user.
What is Full HDTV?: A full HDTV provides an image resolution of 1920 (horizontal) x 1080 (vertical). Full HDTV provides a vertical resolution of 1080lines with progress scanning (1080p). 1080 stands number of horizontal lines in the complete raster; the p stands for progressive scanning where each scandisplays every line in the image raster sequentially from top to bottom.
What is HDMI?: HDMI is defined as High Definition Multimedia Interface.
Why must I connect to component instead of composite connection?: Component cables connection can drive up to 1080i and you can adjust the colour for better production. Composite cables can only drive up to 480p which is a lower resolution.
The picture on the TV has double or multiple images. What should I do?: Check the antenna connection and direction. Fine tune the TV. Check the connection of the external equipment. The TV station may have broadcast difficulties. Try another channel.
A specific channel is weak and noisy. What should I do?: Check the antenna connection and direction. Fine tune the TV. Check the connection of the external equipment. The TV station may have broadcasting difficuties. Try another channel.
What should I do when my TV cannot be powered on, i.e. no picture and no sound?: a. Check the indicating LED light. If there is no light, please check the condition of power socket. You can plug in other appliances to check if this socket is working.
b. Check if the TV power cord is not loose.
c. Check if the main power button on TV is already switched on.
d. Check antenna cable is plugged in and channels correctly tuned.
e. If you are a cable TV subscriber, please check if your set-top box is working.
What should I do when there is picture but no sound?: Kindly check the volume or whether the TV is muted, or check external equipment connections such as audio cables from DVD player, or audio cable from Starhub set-top box.
What should I do when "No Signal" appears on the screen?: The TV cannot detect any signals from any input terminals. Check if the cable is connected correctly and firmly. Check if the power of any external equipment is turned on. Check if the input source selection is correct.
What should I do when there is abnormal display or no display on the screen (RGB mode only)?: Check if the display resolution and frequency of your PC is a valid resolution for the TV. For notebook & laptop users, please ensure that you have toggled your external monitor to the LED TV RGB port.
What should I do when the remote control does not work?: a. Check if the batteries are installed correctly.
b. The batteries may be exhausted. Replace them with new ones.
c. Check if the remote control selection is on your desired devices mode (e.g. TV mode for TV)
d. Find a digital camera or a camera phone. Point your remote control infra sensor towards your digital camera or camera phone (in camera mode). If the camera screen has a red light flashing when you press the remote control button, the remote control is working.
e. Please check if there's any blockage in front of your TV.
Why is my LED TV picture not sharp when connecting to DVD player?: A 1080p or 1080i source is required to deliver a sharp picture. Pease check the source output of your DVD player.
What should I do when image is not centered (RGB mode only)?: Adjust the "H Position" and "V Position" in the RGB MODE SETUP menu.
