Air Purifiers

The unit is in demo mode. Unplug the power cord once, wait for a few seconds, and then insert the power plug into AC outlet.

a) Please check if there is anything nearby that the odor sensor might sense, for example, any appliance generating combustion gas, alcohol, cosmetics, sprays, and etc. Purifier may sense invisible gas components that cannot be cleared by filter or continuous operation. Ventilate the room by opening window etc.
b) Please check if odor sensor hole is blocked by dust or other obstacle. Clean the odor sensor.

Is the purifier installed in a place out of reach of odor? - Relocate air purifier
Is odor sensor hole blocked by dust or other obstacle? - Clean the odor sensor.

Please press the reset button after cleaning the filter.

Please check the following:
Is there water in the water tank?
Is the humidifying filter dirty?
Is the operation in any of the “Air Purify”, “Pollen” or “Strong Deodorization” mode.

Please check the filter condition, it may be either dirty or needs to be replaced.

The standard life time of the dust filter is 8 years. It should be replaced earlier if its color shows resemblance to the color on the dirtiness label attached to the purifier body. The colors on dirtiness label are shown as a guide only. Depending on the place of installation, the actual color of the contaminated filter may differ from the color shown on this label.

For the deodorization filter replacement interval, use approximate 10 years as a guide. Replace the filter earlier any time the filter performance is degraded.The filter may need to be replaced earlier depending on the place of installation and condition of use. When dirt or odor becomes harder to remove, replace the filter earlier than suggested. Otherwise, the filter may generate odor.

The humidifying filter is a consumable part. Replace it using 24 months of use as a guide (cleaning is needed once in every month). (Do not dispose of the humidifying filter case.)

When the “Clean Humidifying Filter” indicator is lit, clean the humidifying filter; water tray and tray cover. The “Clean Humidifying Filter” indicator will come on approx. one month (approx. 720 hours) after the start of use or after the reset button was pressed upon finishing previous cleaning.
When you are done with cleaning; press the reset button. The “Clean Humidifying Filter” indicator will go off.

Please check the following:
Is the water tank set properly?
Is the tank cap closed firmly, or the tank cap packing set securely?
Is the water tray cover closed properly?
Is the humidifying filter set securely?
Is the purifier tilted, or was it carried with water in the tank?
Is there an opening in the water tank or water tray?
Is there any leakage from the water tank?

The humidifying system employed in Hitachi air purifiers is the evaporating type that produces moisturized air by passing an air stream through the humidifying filter.

Hitachi air purifiers models do not produce any ions. Harmful particles are being filtered out by the allergen-free HEPA filter, producing pure and clean air without any ions.

The 'FRONT' dust filter should be facing outwards towards the person installing it.

Hitachi air purifiers are all ozone-free.

There may be some odors such as alcohol, cosmetics, sprays etc. nearby which the odor sensor could detect. The purifier can detect components of invisible gas that cannot be cleaned by the filter, so the sensor continues operating. In this case, please open the window for ventilation.
