What is IH technology?
IH stands for “Induction Heating”. For Hitachi’s IH rice cooker, inner pot heats up on its own from the magnetic forces. And rice is cooked more evenly. This also minimizes damage to the original quality and taste of the grain.
If the inner coating of the rice cooker pot is peeled off partially, is it still safe to use the pot to cook?
Yes, under normal usage, it is still safe to use the same pot to cook the food for human consumption, but the rice may get burned and blacken at the peeling area. Hence it is advised to replace with a new pot if you can.
How do I clean the inner pot?
Wash with soft material such as sponge. When it does not get cleaned, use mild detergent (Dish detergent). To avoid damaging the fluorine coating:Use attached rice scoop provided Do not wash it with spoons or bowls together Do not use vinegar Do not scrub inside with polishing powder or scrubbing brush. Clean it with soft sponge only. Clean rice in another container
There is an unusual odour from the rice and inner pot.
There might be plastic or rubber smell during the first use but it will fade after a while. Other odours may occur after cooking mixed rice or using the pot for other food. This is normal.
Why do the rice gone bad quickly?
There could be many reasons. There may be too much water than indicated causing the steam from evaporation which should be collect by the inner lid reverse and go back to the rice causing the rice to go bad quicker
