Why is there a loud vibration sound from the upper/middle part of the refrigerator?
Open the freezer door of the refrigerator and if the sound stops after a short while, it might be due to blockage of ice in the fan rotation. You can switch off the refrigerator for a few hours for the ice to melt (please arrange your food in other cooling storage methods). Kindly contact Customer Service Centre for further assistance if the sound persists or if the refrigerator is not cold any more.
Why does my refrigerator do not cool enough or do not make ice when using it for the first time?
It takes time to cool or when there are alot of foods stored. It may take 4 ~ 24 hours to be fully cool after installing.
When using for the first time, it takes time to make ice because ice making starts after a full cooling. It may take more than 24 hours to make ice depending on the amount of food and its packaging.
Open/close the door quickly and/or minimize the number of times of opening and closing the door.
Allow space clearance between each food in the refrigerator.
Why is there sound immediately after I close the freezer door of my refrigerator?
If the sound is not continuous, it could be the fan motor starting sound. There will be a sound when the fan starts after freezer door is closed for a short while
How much food can be placed in the refrigerator?
There is no specific amount as to how much food you can store. However, please allow some space in front of the cold air vents of the refrigerator. Blocked air vents will reduce the cooling performance as air circulation is restricted. If you have many food in the fridge, please set the temperature lower
For water and ice dispenser, the "Empty water tank" indicator is always lighted up even though the tank is full of water. Is it faulty?
Please ensure that the water tank is pushed all the way behind the marking line. Please also check if water can be dispensed from the water dispenser or ice can be made. If the water level remains the same, it could be due to faulty water pump or printed circuit board. Please contact Hitachi Customer Service Center for repairs.
Does the temperature in the freezer increase during self- defrosting process?
Yes. This is normal and will not affect the food quality in the fridge
Installation requirements for refrigerator:
Ensure enough ventilation space around the fridge body (top, behind, left and right). For different models, the required space may be different. Please refer to the user manual of the product for details.
Do not put any cover on top of the refrigerator, otherwise heat emitting effect drops resulting in poor performance and overheated compressor. The refrigerator surroundings may be warm due to gas piping running and heat emitting. It is not a malfunction.
To avoid extreme heat, place your refrigerator out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources such as cooking appliances
Why is the refrigerator compartment not cold but freezer is?
Please check temperature setting for Refrigerator.
Please deactivate energy saving setting.
Please ensure door is fully closed and not left open for long time.
Please check if there are many foods inside and if it is blocking the cold air blowing vents at the back.
Please check if there are any gaps on door edges.
Please check condition of door gasket (rubber sealing)
It could be due to damper, sensor defect or PCB issue.
Take the following precautions when transporting a fridge:
Before transporting the fridge:
Remove all foods from the fridge.
Wipe off all ice/dew inside the fridge. Empty ice compartment (if any).
Drain off any remaining water inside the drain pan at the back.
Secure the doors well with tapes so that they do not open during transportation.
Lay a protective sheet/cloth on the floor to prevent any scratches.
While carrying and transporting the fridge:
Do not hold door handles when carrying the refrigerator.
Lean the fridge body slightly (with front doors face upward) and move it onto a heavy-duty trolley and truck.

Do I need to connect my water pipe directly into the water dispenser?
Hitachi refrigerators with water dispenser series comes with a water tank that connects directly to the water dispenser. No troublesome plumbing is required and you can place your refrigerator anywhere in the home.
Can I put tea or juice in the water tank instead of water?
Only drinking water in the tank is recommended. Otherwise, the water tube may be clogged with juicy pulps or tea leaves.
Why does the food in the refrigerator compartment freeze?
Please check the temperature control dial and temperature setting. Ensure that it is not set at the lowest temperature setting. Please check if the food is touching or right in front of the air vent? If yes, please place the food further away from the air vent.
Why is there condensation or little icing inside Vacuum Compartment?
Ensure that the vacuum room door is not opened too frequently, as the hot air goes inside and thus causes condensation. Moisture in juicy food stored in the Vacuum Compartment will evaporate and cause dew condensation or frost in the Vacuum Compartment. Please wipe it off with a dry cloth
Why are both crushed and cubes ices dispensed out when I select only crushed ice button?
It might be due to insufficient water in the water tank, which causes the cubes to be smaller than usual and thus, cannot be crushed
Why are there water inside / surface of the vegetable compartment drawer?
This is due to the optimum humidity inside the vegetable compartment which keeps the vegetables fresh
Why does one door open when the other closes?
The compartments are connected by cold air pathway where the air pressure will lead to the opening of the other door when one door closes hard. This is not malfunction
Why are there water droplets on the outside of the refrigerator?
This is due to frosting, usually during the raining season or on high humid weather when the ambient temperature is high. It is not a malfunction. Please use a dry cloth to wipe off the water droplets and ensure that the surrounding of the fridge is well ventilated
Why is the side of the refrigerator body hot?
In order to prevent the refrigerator from sweating and also to ventilate the heat, especially for new fridge, during the high speed operation of the compressor or when the doors are opened frequently, a lot of heat is generated and emitted from the side of the fridge body.The temperature can rise quite high, but it does not pose any safety or performance problems, but please avoid touching it

Why is there water inside the container at the back/bottom side of the refrigerator?
The container at the back/bottom side of the refrigerator is called drain pan or evaporator pan. The water from defrosting process will be collected in it.You can leave the water untouched, as it will evaporate.
How can I get rid of the smell in the refrigerator?
a. The most basic way is to clean and maintain the refrigerator regularly. For example: removing expired food quickly, food that has strong smell like durian, kimchi is best to be sealed up in boxes. Why doesn't the vacuum compartment of my refrigerator give a hissing sound when opened?
This indicates that the compartment is not in a vacuumed condition. a. Check the vacuum setting on the control panel. Open one refrigerator door to check if the LED indicator (on control panel on the door surface) for Vacuum mode is turned on. b. Ensure that nothing is trapped by the door of the vacuum compartment or rubber seal of the door and that the vacuum compartment door is tightly locked. c. After the door of the vacuum compartment is locked, it takes about 3 minutes for the vacuum pump to run. Please check the hissing sound again after 3 minutes
Why are there wavy lines on the sides of refrigerator body?
Refrigerant (gas) pipes are running underneath at the side body. As such, some wave lines may be visible especially when compressor runs at high speed and the sides of the refrigerator is hot. This is normal and will not affect the performance of the refrigerator.

The ice tray might not be turning completely, or remaining ice is stuck inside the ice tray. Please take out the ice tray and wash it clean. Insert it back and ensure that it is horizontal and level. Remember to turn the lever to lock the tray. Make a new batch of ice to test it
